Anna Chernova (Bishkek, Kyrghyz Republic)I am 34, single, self employed and live in the United States. I had been contacted by Anna Chernova after I responded to her profile on an internet dating website. This website contains tons of available Russian women, and some of the photos on the website are familiar to your blacklist. Anyway, Anna claimed that I was the first man to write to her and that I was special. The first letter was very cordial and the photo enclosed was a knockout. She asked to know more about me. We traded one more letter, before she started professing her undying love for me. I was amazed at how fast that happened. At the same time, I had written to another lady and I had received the exact same letter from her. Her name was Natasha. They (Anna and Natasha) ended up sending two letters that were exactly the same, word-for-word. That was the first red flag I chose to ignore.After the third letter, Anna told me that she receives many letters and decided to choose me exclusively and she would not write to anybody else, because it was so expensive to send email from the agency. She started to talk about not being able to write as often. That was the next red flag I ignored. It was after this letter that she talked about coming to America to visit me. I thought terrific. Heck, stuff like this didnt happen in America and I thought I was a deserving guy for a beautiful young woman. I even somewhat believed she was in love with me. Either that, or at least she wanted out of Kyrghzy really bad. I started to think this was possible. I started to get excited.I had been looking all over the internet to see what a scam would look like, but I couldnt find any information and I hadnt come across your website yet. I consider myself somewhat intelligent and figured it (getting scammed) only happens to other people. So I continued on the premise that she was legit, even with my suspicions. She wished to come to America and it was going to cost $840 (visa and airplane) and she could get the paperwork in 2-3 days and be in America within a week. It was at this time that the Angel Agency became involved too. They sent me emails saying they would handle the paperwork. They told me to send the money (western union style) to Anna Chernova at the Bank Bakai. I started to think that getting a visa in 2-3 days sounded too good to be true, especially after September 11.Since I couldnt find any information on scammers, I continued to move forward. I sent the money. Fortunately, I timed it so that it was sent late at night (her time) and I could keep searching. Thank goodness I found your website and much to my abhor, my story sounded way too familiar. Fortunately, the bank didnt open for another two hours and I immediately stopped payment on the transfer. Needless to say, Anna was upset to find out that her scam had been thwarted when she went to the bank. She sent many emails (remember when they were too expensive?) when she couldnt get the money. Her last email was somewhat nasty and she said she was very upset.I told her I was sorry for the misunderstanding and if this was legit, it would take more time to get to know each other. Thats where it stands as of today. Thank you for saving me big time. I am so glad I found your website. Im not sure if Ill ever try to find a Russian wife. I read your articles on why they are appealing to Americans and I agree with some of that, but I happen to love American women too much now.
